This hillside studio is dramatically perched at the top of an arroyo with glimpses of the Mediterranean beyond. The charm of this property is its secluded location where you can feel completely private.

The detached studio-guest house is located at the end of a steep track in peaceful countryside near Mijas Pueblo. The studio, adjacent to the owner’s home, is completely self-contained with a private entrance. It has its own terrace off the kitchen for leisurely breakfasts and candlelit suppers, and a natural shady garden surrounded by olive trees.

Steep stone steps lead down to a terrace and spring-fed, non-filtered, pool. Nestled in a niche of the ravine, the pool is very private. Sun beds are provided. A leafy fig tree makes a natural sun-shade. (The pool is maintained from June through mid September.)

The open-plan, split-level studio with soaring ceilings has luminous lounge and sleeping area three steps down from entrance. There are two built-in divan beds, arm chairs and ample desk space for plugging in your lap-top. Bay windows overlook the pool and hillside. The kitchenette with breakfast bar, on the entrance level, opens to a private terrace under the olive trees.

LOCATION. The studio is situated on a hillside 2.5 km west of Mijas Pueblo. Views are down to the Mediterranean and up to the pine-clad Sierra of Mijas. Although there is bus service to Mijas, a car is recommended. Parking area on-site. Walking paths in nearby sierra. In Mijas, shops, market, restaurants, banks. Beaches are a 15-minute drive; Alhaurin Golf is 4 minutes. Allow 50 minutes to airport.

ACCESSIBILITY. Steep access road. Private parking has no turn-around space. There are steps from parking area to the studio and from studio to pool. Not suitable for elderly or small children.

ACCOMMODATION. Two fixed divan beds in sitting area with arm chairs, desk area, book shelves. Kitchenette with small fridge, hob,microwave.Bathroom with toilet, bath, shower, wash basin. Private entrance. Private terrace. Private pool.

AMENITIES AND FACILITIES. The studio is set in a natural olive grove; there are no landscaped gardens. Tap water comes from a well. WiFi internet access,stereo/radio, iron, hair dryer, table fan, toaster, blender, kettle, barbecue.

CLEANING, LINENS. Bed linens and towels are provided weekly. Studio is cleaned weekly.

CHANGEOVER DAY. Prefer Saturdays. Ask about special rates for second week of occupancy.
