It is situated under my house on the edge of one of the famous Andalucian white villages, Jimena de la Frontera, and abuts the natural park, Los Alconocales.
We are in extremely good walking country and on an important bird migration route There is riding and rock climbing and the lovely Hozgarganta river is only 7 minutes away. The area of the Romano moorish castle which dominates the town is an extremely interesting slice of history and a dig will be done this Summer. We have an international music festival each July: Maria Joao Pires, Mariza, Paco de Lucia inter alia. Quite a number musicians live in the village and there are several concerts and music courses. I am told they speak English in one of the banks and the best restaurant is owned by an American, but Jimena de la Frontera its still very Spanish.
Both Jimena de la Frontera and los Alconocales are worth looking up on the net. | | | |
